As if one totally bitchin’ ride a day wasn’t enough, we decide to go for a short loop in the afternoon. The weather is still gorgeous. We head out on a jeep trail to the north and after a mile it turns into a roller coaster single track. After a steep switchback leading up and away from the Big Wood River we hit a little downhill slalom section through some aspens. We cross over Fox Creek and head up a gradual switchback climb for about a mile. We reach the top and as we start the descent we see a Forest Service trail sign advising us of a long downhill ahead. Woohoo! We speed over noodles and roller coasters for 2.5 miles before completing the loop. Definitely one of the best all around rides.
