Ride Report for June 06, 2010
by Oz
Riders: Charlie,Bryan, Wreck, Dookie, Michelle, Lumbar Louie

This ride was uneventful except for the part where ahem...Charlie decided to
pay bumper-cars in the parking lot...no injuries to report fortunately....we
all decided to hit ATM...but I guess we didn't tell Charlie, because when we
got going up Central, Charlie decided to take a detour to Sycamore. Also,
this was about the last time any of us saw Dookie.....I hope he didn't get
eaten by a mountain lion.

The rest of us continued under the freeway to the dirt road and then to the
housing tract. At the water tank we continued on the single-track all the
way to Alessandro. At this point we all started to feel the heat....and I
for one was sweating up a storm....

We decided to ride BOM and finally reached the horse stables before Box
Springs Rd where we spotted a band of wild burros. Michelle took off up the
mountain first and the rest of us followed. At the top I decided I would
attempt to ride all of two trees on my clipless pedals (I've cleaned
everything with my platforms before)

At the first rock drop I slid out and was soon caught by Doc and Bryan who
both cleaned it nicely. I tried again and cleaned it and then I continued to
the rock garden which I cleaned. Next came Doc who stalled and fell over
sideways but he was OK. Bryan cleaned it really easily....

We then took the Watkins cutoff and finished through UCR and back to the lot.

I think it was about 85 degrees when we finished. Overall a good ride....
